ABOUT

Siren Busch

Registered Psychologist | Focused on Trauma & First Responders

Over Two Decades of Experience, Grounded in Empathy and Expertise

I have spent more than 23 years working as a psychologist in Canada, supporting individuals through trauma, stress, and life transitions.

My career began in well-respected clinical settings such as the University Health Network (UHN) and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), where I gained invaluable experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

In 2013, I transitioned into private practice to pursue what had become a clear calling: working with first responders and others impacted by traumatic events. Since then, I’ve worked extensively with paramedics, police officers, firefighters, dispatchers, and veterans—as well as individuals who have witnessed or experienced traumatic incidents in their personal or professional lives.

I briefly served as a staff psychologist with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) but returned to private practice to provide more personalized, flexible care. This allows me to tailor support based on each client’s unique clinical needs and recovery goals.

Why First Responders?

First responders face extraordinary stressors: irregular shifts, repeated trauma exposure, mandatory overtime, and the heavy responsibility of making life-or-death decisions. These pressures can surface in many ways—sleep disturbances, emotional numbness, irritability, anxiety, or trouble functioning at work and in relationships.

Some clients come to therapy because their day-to-day life has become difficult to manage. Others want to build coping strategies, increase resilience, or monitor their mental health baseline so they can catch early warning signs before symptoms escalate.

My experience allows me to offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where nothing has to be filtered or softened. You’re free to speak honestly, no matter how graphic or painful your memories may be, because I understand the context and complexity of trauma within these roles.
